Farming – Driven by Purpose
The world’s food systems are facing a series of threats including the Russia/Ukraine conflict, Unstable Geopolitics, High Energy Costs, an environment of Climate Change and Scarce/Limited Resources.
How do we confront these threats? What MACRO changes are needed to not limit food production and keeps the stewards of our land on the land?
PEACE – if that is possible…I’m hopeful.
New Advances in Production – sustainability and re-generative farming practices
New Advances in Technology, Transportation and Global Trade – systems that deliver uninterrupted, safe and affordable supply of food year-round
Food Policies – recognizing affordability and safety for the consumer
Food Polices – that do not limit future farming potentials and opportunities for the family farm
Supply Chains – that respect the players in the link and all leave some money on the table
The current food crisis is not a THREAT but an OPPORTUNITY to make CHANGE to make BETTER, NOW.
I look forward to next week when I'll be talking about High Alberta Farmland Prices...
